User Experience, User Interface Website Design
duke arts | JULY 2023
Working from the brand identity system developed by Order, I extended and applied the guidelines across Duke Arts’ digital platforms. Duke Arts, part of the Office of the Vice Provost for the Arts at Duke University, sought a comprehensive identity that reflects their role as a cultural hub within one of the nation’s top universities. My role focused on translating the identity into a cohesive and engaging online experience, alongside Matt Lembo and Justin Goldberg on development and implementation.

Duke Arts Presents
Their campus concert series highlights both global and local talent, spanning visual art, comedy, classical and contemporary music, and more. We enhanced the landing page with branded graphics and emphasized select advertisements, strategically woven throughout the accompanying calendar for added visibility.
Home Page
The homepage was designed as a gateway into Duke’s vibrant arts community, uniting their biggest events, news and stories, workshops, residencies, and creative opportunities. Alongside dynamic hierarchy and movement, the design incorporates the same rounded arch shapes carried throughout the brand, paired with bold color to create a continued sense of energy, continuity, and invitation.
A variety of carousel configurations were explored to evaluate how viewers navigated and where they moved next, with the team ultimately determining the most effective approach for a seamless, engaging experience. The final direction emphasized two distinct keyframes, with content dynamically scrolling upward in response to the user’s downward scroll.
