Mother Nature Academy LLC

Part-time, Pre-K, Nature: Mother Nature Academy LLC is a nature school that is also focused on getting your child “kindergarten ready.” They meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm with an option of 2, 3, or 5-day classes per week. For nature schools in this area, they cater to a younger audience of 2 1/2 to 5 years old.

The Fellowship Preschool

Part-time Care, Preschool, PreK: The Fellowship Preschool offers 2, 3, and 4-day classes for children ages 3-4 and 3 or 5-day classes for children ages 4-5. Their school year runs from late August through the end of May.

Part-time, Pre-K, Nature School: Little Wild Ones is a Nature School through TimberNook Sensational Experiences. They cater to ages 4-7, although they have accepted 3-year-olds into the program if they are out of diapers and/or pull-ups. They meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.

TimberNook of the Sandhills is located at 1615 Bethesda Road in Aberdeen. Registration begins the week of January 4th, 2024 and spots are available.

Mommy & Me: Southern Pines Library offers weekly Early Childhood Programs for ages birth-5. These sessions include Baby Rhymes Classes, Learn and Play Time, and Music & Motion Classes.

Classes are time-specific and take place Tuesday-Thursdays. The library is located at 125 SE Broad Street in Southern Pines.

Wee Learn

Part-time Care, Preschool, PreK: Wee Learn at First Baptist Church offers a Christian-based curriculum for children ages 1-4 years old. They operate from 9 am-Noon Mondays through Thursdays. Registration opens for current families on January 24 and on February 7 for the public.

The Merry Hearts Preschool

Part-time Care, Preschool, PreK: The Merry Hearts Preschool at Bethesda Presbyterian Church is a preschool for children ages 1-4 years old. Priority is given to currently enrolled students and families, as well as Bethesda Presbyterian Church members. The Early Registration period begins January 3-13.

Given Memorial Library

Mommy & Me: The Given Memorial Library in Pinehurst offers weekly programs for ages birth-10.

Programs are time-specific and take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The library is located at 150 Cherokee Road in Pinehurst.

Wander and Root

Part-time, Pre-K, Nature: Wander and Root offers nature school, summer adventures, pop-up play days, and more throughout the year. They operate Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at 1328 Martin Rd. in Jackson Springs, NC. Families can choose between 1, 2, or 3-day enrollment.

An interest form and farm tour are required before enrollment. Some scholarships are available.

Sandhills Gymnastics

Mommy & Me, Part-time Care, Preschool, PreK: Sandhills Creative Learning is an Academic and Gymnastics Preschool for 2, 3, and 4-year-olds with a 12:2 student-to-teacher ratio. Classes are from Monday — Friday 9am-12pm with early and late drop-off available. Preschool Gymnastics to boys and girls ages 2-5 are also available throughout the day.

The gym is located at 220 Ampersand Dr in Aberdeen.

Sandhills Classical Christian School

Private, Part-time, Full-time, Preschool, PreK: Sandhills is a private classical and Christian school offering preschool through 12th grade. The Preschool of SCCS offers locations in both Southern Pines and Pinehurst with half-day and full-day options, summer camps, as well as before- and after-care available.

The Preschools are located at 6 Carter Street in Pinehurst and 1425 Midland Rd. in Southern Pines. You must speak to the Preschool Administration before completing an application. Enrollment begins in January.

Sandhills Children’s Center

Full-time Care, Infant Care, Preschool, PreK: Sandhills Learning Center is a full-time school for children ages birth-5 located at 1280 Central Drive in Southern Pines. They provide care for children with and without special developmental needs.

The Southern Pines campus has an extremely long wait list for enrollment for all age groups. They are only accepting enrollment forms for children born between 9/1/23 - 8/31/24.

Brownson Learning Center

Part-time Care, Preschool, PreK: Brownson Learning Center offers part-time preschool and Pre-K classes for children who are ages 1 to 4 years old from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Priority placement is given to current and previous BLC families.

DIRT Outdoor School

Part-time, Pre-K, Nature DIRT Outdoor School program opens for it's spring semester in March 2024. They meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9AM to 1PM in Robbins, NC and cater to children ages 4-8 years old.

Registration is open with an interest form and tour suggested before completing your child’s enrollment.

Drop Zone Kids

Drop-off, Part-Time Care: Drop Zone Kids provides a safe and engaging childcare solution for children ages 12 months to 12 years for up to 4 hours. They are open Monday-Saturday.

They are located at 285 Pinehurst Ave. Suite 3C in Southern Pines.

Episcopal Day School (EDS)

Private, Part-time, Full-time, Preschool, PreK: EDS is a private school offering education and character training to students from early preschool through 5th grade. Half-day and Full-day programs are offered.

The O’Neal School

Private, Part-time, Full-time, Preschool, PreK: O’Neal is a private school offering education from PreK-3 through Grade 12. Half-day and Full-day Programs are offered in the Lower School PreKs.

Their full-time hours are from Monday – Friday 9am-3pm with after care, Kids Club, available. Located at 3300 Airport Road in Southern Pines.

Ladybug Farm

Part-time, Pre-K, Nature School: Ladybug Farm hosts a community-focused, Waldorf-based ‘Nature Immersion’ school. Forest Kindergarten is a seasonal 2 days per week Waldorf influenced program designed for children ages 4-6.

They meet at the farm in Pinebluff on Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00-12:30.

Caterpillar Learning Academy

Infant Care, Full-time Care: Caterpillar Learning Academy will begin offering full-time care from 7:30 – 5:30PM for children ages 12 weeks to 3 years in April of 2024.

The facility will be located near McDeed’s Elementary. Registration will be opening soon.
