Emmanuel Episcopal: Photography & Web Design

Emmanuel Episcopal church | april 2021

Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Southern Pines, North Carolina is easily one of the most beautiful churches I’ve visited and become a member of. Our primary goal for a site redesign was to create a welcoming and more functional website for Emmanuel, but I also knew I had to capture the beauty of their space and the essence of their grounds with my photography. See how it all came about below!

brand Values

After one year into COVID, a value for the parish was to ensure that their community knows they are loved, whether as residing members or potential newcomers. The parishioners are free to come as they are and to love and support one another in worship, through learning, gathering, and as volunteers together.

We met our audience with the message “God loves you.” Below that we inform the user immediately how they can join our online services, worship together, grow together, gather and serve. Continuing down the home page is a way for visitors to join Emmanuel’s newsletter to stay informed as well a Welcome message urging anyone to reach out to their team.

Brand goals

Visitors are called and welcomed into community with Emmanuel. Beyond aesthetics, with this redesign, it was time to effectively showcase Emmanuel’s strong presence in the Southern Pines area.

It was essential to send a warm welcome to visitors whether they’re an elderly member or a millennial family that’s new to the area and transitioning from a move. We did this by sharing the beauty of Emmanuel through photography, succinct messaging, and a more organized and guided sense of navigation.

“At Emmanuel we gather to enrich our lives through friendships. Whether we are gathering for pizza and beer in the garden, to listen to a classical music concert, to share lemonade after worship, or by sharing a meal with our brothers and sisters in Christ, we always seek to grow in relationship. You are loved. You are included.
